Like anyone else, I have faced profound challenges. I lost my only son, Dan, when he was just 22. I have fallen in love again, helped my beloved husband recover from cancer, and watched our cherished neighborhood lost to fire. Through all of life’s ups and downs, I have discovered that even the deepest pain can carry within it the seed of profound transformation. Now, I invite you to step into the boundless potential of your own story.

Creative Visions
Kathy and her daughter Amy founded Creative Visions to support creative activists: people who use media and the arts to ignite positive change. It began in a bedroom in West Hollywood. Today it lives at the Dan Eldon Center for Creative Activism on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu.

1970 – 1993
Dan Eldon
Artist, adventurer and Reuters photojournalist, killed in Mogadishu at 22. His journals, collages of photographs, maps and words, became books, exhibitions, a feature film and a movement of creative activists.

The Journey Is the Destination, directed by Bronwen Hughes, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2016 with Maria Bello as Kathy, and is on Netflix.
